Ashtavinayak
As my travel tale continues; it was
August 2017, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the Lenyadri mountains of the
Deccan. stroll in the local market places displaying a variety of hand
crafted folk arts, viewing typical Maharashtrian culture as usual during my pilgrimage
trip to Ashtavinayak (eight auspicious Ganesha temples – central west
Maharashtra).
Here in the scene, Lord Ganesha
with a typical Maratha turban accompanied by his two wives Riddhi and Siddhi
enjoying a quality time in the beautiful caves of Lenyadri has been
imagined. Lord Ganesha with a broken tooth derives his name (Ekdantaya).
He is playing a unique Indian musical instrument “Swar Jankar” which represents
the musical culture and lifestyle and unique fish design jewelry represents fisheries
around the sea of Konkan areas of Maharashtra.
Mata Riddhi is enjoying the
music beside Ganesha. Mata Siddhi is busy with her paintbrush composing a
typical Maharashtrian game of cards known as “Savantwadi Ganjifa''. Both
divine ladies adore the typical Maharashtrian hand-woven sarees lifestyle”
Peshwai drape of Nauvari nine-yard saree” and “Paithne – handwoven silk”,
traditional jewelry with a pinch of western touch to their attire
respectively.
The location inspired by Lenyadri
Mountains. Maharashtra.
